AS IS…The Strings of Hope
Join the Elephant in the room for the third show in the trilogy “things we don’t talk to children about but should”. Having explored death and weirdness, we now embark on a conversation about mental illness. “AS IS…the Strings of Hope” looks at body dysmorphia, depression, anxiety/OCD, PCSD (post-COVID Stress Disorder) and most importantly mental hygiene. In a given year, 20% of children in the US will be diagnosed with a mental illness. Isn’t it time we talk about it?
Guided by the Elephant, eleven dancers, and a vocalist speak, sing, and dance about their state of mind. We look at how we feel, why we feel it, and what we can do try to make sense of it all. Mental Hygiene is a practice focusing on health instead of sickness and used to help maintain good emotional and mental wellbeing. How is your Mental Hygiene? Let us introduce you a few tools to improve it.
