Peaceful Pottery Purchasing Experience – PPPE

Mark Hewitt Pottery, 424 Johnny Burke Rd. Pittsboro, usually holds their popular Summer Kiln Opening this time of year. This time the event is by private appointment only.

The “PPPE” runs from Saturday, September 5th, to Sunday, September 13th, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day.

You can visit the pottery, tour the massive kilns, and enjoy looking at wood-fired, salt-glazed pottery – dinnerware, vases, jars, serving bowls, large platters, mugs and more, as well as Mark Hewitt’s signature big pots. Families are welcome.

They’re booking just 8 appointments an hour, and asking that face coverings be worn inside the barn/showroom. A tent has been added this year with tables of ‘seconds’ and sale pots.

Come on out and enjoy this lovely pottery in rural Chatham County, just 3 miles east of downtown Pittsboro.
