Gifts for the Neat Freak on Your List

A later Thanksgiving this year meant shopping season was upon us before the turkey was even out of the oven. If you’re just starting to make your list and check it twice, I’ll share a few of my favorite “get organized” gifts for the Neat Freak (or maybe slightly “messy”) on your list!

Label Maker

Well, I’ll just come right out and say it: I’m in love with my label maker. I use it to label pantry shelves, light switches, file folders, boxes in the garage, toy bins for the kids and everything in between. This is the ideal tool for identifying a space or container and keeping things neat. You can find the Brother P-Touch Label Maker at Staples here in Chapel Hill.

Plug Hub

This handy cord wrangler will keep even the messiest desk under control. Use it to hide a power strip and manage cords neatly. You can mount this tool to the bottom of your desk and contain up to six cords. Then, if you want to get even more Neat Freak-y, label those cords with your label maker!

Attic Maxx Shelving

If climbing into your attic to pull down the holiday decor is a life-threatening event, then I have the product for you. Attic Maxx shelving works with your existing attic truss system and easily attaches so you can avoid teetering towers of totes. Slide bins of goodies onto these shelves for easy access and keep your attic looking spiffy. They’re super easy to install and sold by a North Carolina-based company. What’s not to love?

Expedit Shelves

This is my go-to Ikea shelf system because it works in so many spaces. Flat pack furniture isn’t always the best quality, but I’ve had my Expedit shelving for over 10 years and it’s as solid as can be. If the drive to Charlotte is daunting and the thought of putting this furniture together makes you curse, consider contacting NC Modern Furniture – they regularly travel to Ikea and will deliver your purchase to you and even assemble it.

The Swoop Bag

For the Lego lover on your list, this awesome bag is a play mat and quick clean up tool all in one! Kids can dump out toys all day long on this handy, circular mat. When it’s time to clean up, just pull the strings and voila! Instant storage bag. For all of you parents who have endured stabbing pain from a late night landing on a Lego brick, this gift might also be for you!

Happy shopping and Keep Neat!
