Movies Under the StarsSouthern Village Summer Concert – Thursday, 7pm – Lester Fricks takes over the Village Green stage for an evening of Bluegrass, Country and Americana. Make sure to bring a blanket, chairs and a picnic.

Movies Under the Stars – Thursday, 8:30pm – Get ready for a night that is out of this world! Head to the Wallace Deck with blankets, chairs and your best alien fighting gear for a screening of “Men in Black” (1997).

Family Movie Matinee – Friday, 2-3:30pm – Head to the Chapel Hill Public Library for an afternoon showing of “Kung Fu Panda 3” (2016). You won’t want to miss this adventure – and dumpling – packed flick.

Author Event – Friday, 6pm – Grab your copy of The Serpent King and make your way to Flyleaf Books for a YA book club discussion and a Skype visit from the author.

Paperhand Puppet Intervention’s Summer Show – Friday-Sunday, 7pm – This year’s show is titled “The Beautiful Beast” and promises to be dazzling as it highlights creatures and monsters that are brought to life with the help of the team’s incredible puppet artistry. Arrive early to Forest Theatre for a seat.

The Julie Ruin – Friday, 9pm – Check out this punk-rock band as they play songs from their new album “Hit Reset”. The Julie Ruin will be at Cat’s Cradle for their only North Carolina performance.

Art Adventures – Saturday, 10:30-12pm and 1-2:30pm – Have you ever wanted to try your hand at pottery? Now’s your chance! Bring the family to Ackland Art Museum for a tour of the galleries followed by a class on coil pots. All material are provided, and you get to take home your masterpiece!

Family Fun Day – Saturday, 2-6pm – Make your way to Orangetheory Fitness at Meadowmont Village for an afternoon of fun! The day will feature a dunk tank, music, games and raffle prizes. Don’t forget to bring your pet; treats will be provided by Woof Gang Bakery & Grooming.

Sundays in Hillsborough – Sunday, 1-5pm – Come enjoy The Voice finalist Katie Basden, carriage rides and historic site tours at Concert Lawn in downtown Hillsborough. This family-friendly has fun activities for everyone!

3@3 – Sunday, 3pm – Catch a great mix of different styles and genres at Local 506. This week’s 3@3 features The Good Bad Kids, Casual Interference and SILAS KANE & The Citizens.
