Weekend at a Glance
Join Head Brewer Andrew Turner and Chef Ben Gill at Vecino Brewing Co. for a four-course meal and accompanying brews. The Thursday-night dinner takes place from 7-9 p.m. and tickets are required.

Thursday 

Movies Under the Stars 
Bring the whole family to enjoy an outdoor showing of Disney’s beloved “Frozen II” at The Forest Theatre in Chapel Hill. The film begins at sundown, with an estimated start time of 8 to 8:30 p.m. Be sure to arrive early to find a seat.

Courtyard Concert 
Spend your evening with musical artist Wake Moody at The Colonial Inn, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. 

Virtual Lunchbox Talk: Plants in Ancient Magic and Religion 
Join UNC Assistant Professor Suzanne Lye for a virtual discovery of the relationship between plants and the ancient Greeks and Romans, hosted by the North Carolina Botanical Garden. The talk is from noon-1 p.m and registration is required. 

Thursday Night Jazz
Put on your dancing shoes and head to Yonder Southern Cocktails & Brew for a live performance from Katharine Whalen’s Jazz Squad from 7-8:30 p.m. 

Summer Beer Dinner
Join Head Brewer Andrew Turner and Chef Ben Gill at Vecino Brewing Co. for a four-course meal and accompanying brews. The dinner takes place from 7-9 p.m. and tickets are required. 

Not a Book Club 
The Orange County Public Library hosts this informal virtual discussion about books from 6:30-8 p.m. Registration is required. No advance reading necessary. 

Thursday-Saturday

Drive-in Movies
Ready, set, action! Stop by The Drive-In at Carraway Village for showings of “Jungle Cruise,” starring Emily Blunt and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, and “Free Guy,” starring Ryan Reynolds at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Tickets must be purchased in advance.

Friday 

Movie Night and Pre-Show 
Head to the Southern Village Green for a pre-show concert featuring bluegrass band Fair to Middlin’ at 7:30 p.m. Movie-goers can appreciate some tunes before The Lumina Theater’s showing of “The Iron Giant” at 9 p.m.

Friday’s on the Front Porch
Join The Carolina Inn from 5 to 8 p.m., with musical entertainment from Morgan Creek Bluegrass. With featured food trucks from Mesas NC and Cilantro Mexican Cuisine serving up dinner, be sure to come hungry!

Ready for Some Crafting?
The Orange County Public Library hosts this family-friendly storytime with tile painting at the River Park & Farmers Market Pavilion, from 4 to 5 p.m. Registration is required. 

Saturday 

Comedy Lockdown Tour
Comedian Ryan Cunningham performs at The PITCH in Chapel Hill. The show starts at 8 p.m. and tickets are required. 

Virtual Art Adventures
Get creative with Allison Tierney who leads this art class for kids, hosted by the Ackland Art Museum. The morning session is from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m., and the afternoon session is from 1 to 1:45 p.m. Registration is required. 

Family Farm Day
Visit the animals at Strouds Creek Farm from 10 a.m. to noon, hosted by the North Carolina Down Syndrome Alliance. Registration is required. 

Orange County Lockdown Concert
Enjoy hard cider, eats from the Medi Bites food truck, and live music at the cider garden stage at Botanist and Barrel in Cedar Grove from 3-5 p.m. 

Sunday 

Boot Camp & Brunch
Treat yourself to a morning of Chapel Hill Training boot camp followed by brunch. The community workout class, led by Patricia Callison, takes place on the Southern Village Green, and participants can refuel after with a 10% discount on brunch specials at The Town Hall Grill

The Carolina Cutups Bluegrass Band 
Make your way to Botanist and Barrel for an afternoon of high energy music performed by The Carolina Cutups Bluegrass Band, from 3 to 5 p.m.  

Cat’s Cradle Concerts
Top off the weekend with an evening of relaxing tunes at Cat’s Cradle. Paul Thorn performs while Valley Maker plays in the Cat’s Cradle Back Room. Both shows begin at 8 p.m., with doors opening at 7 p.m. Tickets are required. 

Sundays at Sundown Music Series
The Southern Village Green hosts performances from The Whiskey Honeys and Orange County All Stars, from 8 to 9:30 p.m.
