Family Movie Matinee — Friday, 2-4pm — Get ready to dive into the popcorn: Chapel Hill Public Library shows “Pete’s Dragon” as part of their Family Movie Matinee series.

Daniel Wallace — Extraordinary Adventures: A Novel — Saturday, 11am —McIntyre’s Books at Fearrington Village is hosting New York Times bestselling author, UNC‘s very own Daniel Wallace (of “Big Fish,” “Ray in Reverse,” “The Watermelon King,” “Mr. Sebastian and the Negro Magician” and “The Kinds and Queens of Roam”) who will be talking about his new novel, “Extraordinary Adventures.”

Honey Bee Hive Tour at CCCG — Saturday, 2-3pm — Join hobbyist beekeeper Anne Cabell at the Carolina Campus Community Garden (CCCG) to explore a real hive and celebrate National Pollinator Week. Preregistration is required.

The Bazaar Midsummer’s Eve Market — Saturday, 5-9pm — Come shop handmade goods, and sample local delicacies at Carrboro Town Commons from over 30 local vendors.

Family and Friends Sunday: Fab Fabrics, Cool Quilts, and Woven Tops — Sunday, 1-5pm — Ackland Art Museum hosts a free, art-filled afternoon for all ages of craft-lovers, inspired by their exhibitions “Court and Capital: Art from Asia’s Greatest Cities” and “Los Trompos.”  Come between 2-4pm, and make your own quilt square for the Chapel Hill Community Quilt with Chapel Hill artist Helen Seebold.
