FRANK Gallery Holiday Pop-Up Event – Tuesdays-Saturdays, 10am-6pm; Sundays 1-6pm –  Head to University Place to the new location of FRANK Gallery. Its holiday pop-up shop will showcase small gift items like photos, paintings, fine art and jewelry by local artists. The event runs through Dec. 24.

2017 Audubon Photography Awards Show – Thursday-Saturday, 10am-6pm; Sunday, 12-5pm –Enjoy some amazing photos of wildlife from around the world at Wild Birds Unlimited. The New Hope Audubon Society welcomes everyone to come and support the 2017 winners and their stunning photos of nature.

Dot – Thursday-Friday, 7:30pm; Saturday, 2pm & 7:30pm; Sunday, 2pm – Have some laughs this holiday season at this family comedy penned by Colman Domingo of AMC’s The Walking Dead in its regional premiere at PlayMaker’s Repertory Company.

Big Book Sale – Friday, 3-5:30pm; Saturday, 10am-5pm; Sunday, 11am-3pm – Shop for your holiday presents by heading on down to Chapel Hill Library, which will be selling books, CDs, audiobooks and vinyl for only $1 and children books and paperbacks for 50 cents. The starting day of the sale is for memberships only, with memberships sold at the door. The rest of the weekend is open for the public and bring your own bag on Sunday to fill it up with books for $5.

Christmas Holiday Shoppe – Saturday, 9am-4pm – With handmade gifts from 65 artisans and crafters, St. Thomas More Catholic School’s 14th annual craft show will give you a chance to stock up on presents. Stick around for a raffle, holiday music, bake sale and the candy cane coffee bar.

Holiday Classic Movie Series – Saturday, 10am – Warm up your Saturday morning with a classic holiday movie and head on over to The Lumina Theater for a showing of “It’s a Wonderful Life.” Tickets are $5.

11th Annual Elf Market – Saturday, 10am-5pm – Support more than 40 local artisans and shop for holiday gifts at The ArtsCenter. Hop by the bar for a drink and let the kids make art projects, watch holiday films and listen to musical guests in the kids’ zone.

The Carolina Inn Holiday Market – Saturdays, 4-8pm – Embrace the holiday atmosphere and shop from the market filled with chocolates, jewelry and ornaments – complete with food and sweets to get into the Christmas spirit. Every Saturday until Christmas.

Light up the Night Hillsborough Holiday Parade – Saturday, 4:45pm – Celebrate the season by enjoying the Hillsborough parade, while trying treats from local vendors and passing through decorated shops.

Chatham Artists Guild 25th Annual Studio Tour – Saturday, 10am-5pm; Sunday, 12-5pm – Tour the studios of 49 talented artists during this signature Chatham County event.

Santa Claus and Baby Goats: Farm Winterfest – Saturday & Sunday, 2pm – Interact with Santa and baby goats, ride the Farm Express Train or hayride and enjoy various kids activities with Spring Haven Farm. Cost is $10.

The Nutcracker – Saturday, 2pm & 8pm; Sunday, 2pm – Dream of sugarplums with Carolina Ballet’s annual holiday show at Memorial Hall. Tickets are $20+.

Hayrides with Santa – Saturday & Sunday, 5:30pm, 6:30pm & 7:30pm – Maple View Farm will offer story time, views of the farm strung with holiday lights and milk and cookie time with Santa. Reservations are required.
