Sean Kelly at The Cave – Thursday, 9pm – Listen to the Independent Music Award winner and singer perform his debut solo album, “Time Bomb, Baby.” This album features notes of indie-pop and pays respect to the 80’s auteurs. RSVP now!

Pumpkin Carving & Decorating Contest – Friday, 9:30am-3pm – Carve and decorate your own pumpkin at the Carrboro Town Commons which will then be displayed Friday evening at the Annual Halloween Carnival (see below). Pumpkins decorated before 3pm will be entered in the contest and citizens will have the chance to vote on a winner who will be announced at 8:15pm. 

Boo-Tanical – Friday, 5:30-8pm – Get creative during North Carolina Botanical Garden’s pumpkin-carving contest, plus crafts, treats and more.

Halloween Carnival – Friday, 6-8:30pm – Bring your children to the Carrboro Town Commons (where the farmers market is on Saturdays) for a night of carnival games, wicked prizes, delicious food and much more! No registration is required, but concessions will be sold.

An Evening with Author and Artist William Dunlap – Friday, 6pm ­– Come to the Ackland Art Museum and enjoy a talk by an internationally-known artist as he discusses his artistic process. Short Mean Fiction includes over four decades’ worth of creative sketches and journaling.

NC Botanical Garden Talk & Coffee Tasting – Saturday, 10am-noon – Enjoy your Saturday morning sipping your morning joe while learning about the coffee farming industry. Carrboro Coffee Roasters’ Founder Scott Conary will be speaking about coffee’s impact on the world around us.

Pittsboro Fall Street Fair – Saturday, 10am-5pm – Rain or shine, expect plenty of fall- themed arts, crafts, carnival foods, live music and more!

River Park Concert – Saturday, 12-8pm – Reflecting on Hillsborough’s appreciation of the arts, community and a good time, the Hillsborough Arts Council sponsors this free downtown outdoor concert featuring performers like Seth Walker and Eric Lindell.

Pumpkin Carving – Saturday, 2-6pm – Hosted by the Fair Game Beverage Company, this family-friendly activity is perfect for your afternoon. Pumpkins, stencils, tools, mulled apple wine and nonalcoholic apple cider will be provided. $10 gets you a pumpkin plus an alcoholic beverage. $7 gets you a pumpkin and a nonalcoholic beverage. RSVP now!

Paperhand Puppet Intervention and Halloween Costume Parade – Saturday, 2-5pm – Awe the kiddos with the magnificent puppetry of Saxapahaw’s Paperhand Puppet Intervention and join in on the costume parade at Southern Village.
