Weekend at a Glance: Concerts, Comedy and Cat’s Cradle

Drink and eat to your fill while listening to live music at the first ever Summer Session Festival on Saturday at Mystery Brewing!

Music at Cat’s Cradle Back Room — Thursday, 7:30pm — Kick off your weekend at Cat’s Cradle with the Seven Deadly Bibs, a Durham-based adult a cappella group. This high energy show will also feature the Durham Ukulele Orchestra and Shane Cooley & The Midnight Girls!

Family Movie Matinee — Friday, 2-4pm — A rainy weekend calls for popcorn and a good movie! Bring the whole family out to Chapel Hill Public Library for a showing of “Trolls.”

Improv Percolator — Friday, 8pm — Something’s brewing at The ArtsCenter! Get ready to laugh at this night of comedy, featuring Some Assembly. Each show includes performances by improv students, a special guest group and ends with one of the Improv Percolator’s house teams.

Summer Session Festival — Saturday, 6-10pm — Hillsborough’s Mystery Brewing Company embraces summer by tapping 25 different session beers from breweries across North Carolina at their first ever Summer Session Festival. Come out to the brewery for live music, a variety of drinks, commemorative glasses and food trucks!

Sunday Concert on the Village Green — Sunday, 6-8pm — Head to Southern Village for beer and hymns with Christ United Methodist Church and Durham County Beer and Hymns, led by Jesse James DeConto of local indie-pop band The Pinkerton Raid. All funds will be donated directly to Super Cooper’s Little Red Wagon Foundation.
