THURSDAY
North Carolina Symphony performs Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5, with its haunting melodies and charming elegance, and Shostakovich’s Violin Concerto No. 1 with a solo from violinist and Grammy-Award winning James Ehnes at Memorial Hall. The show starts at 7:30 p.m.
FRIDAY
Piedmont Wildlife Center’s Gail Abrams and Matt Jenkins lead a nocturnal hike at the Mason Farm Biological Preserve to learn about owls and watch them in their natural habitat. Ages 7+ are welcome to participate and the 1-mile walk begins at 6:30 p.m.
SATURDAY
Experienced gardener Kim Faurot and her husband, Tom Keeler, will explain the process of growing blueberry bushes at the Episcopal Church of the Advocate. The lesson starts at 10 a.m.
SUNDAY
Joan Osborne, the seven-time Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter, performs some of her well-known hits such as “One of Us” at The ArtsCenter. Most recently, Joan co-produced her own solo record titled “Love and Hate.”
