NC Science Festival
The festival features a monthlong series of in-person and virtual events for all ages hosted by Morehead Planetarium and Science Center. This year’s theme “Homegrown Science” celebrates at-home scientific endeavors. 

THURSDAY

‘Date Night’ at the Orange County Historical Museum 
Join curator Courtney Smith for the virtual opening of Orange County Historical Museum’s new “Date Night” exhibit. Find out what dating, food, fashion and music were like during the 20th century.

How Does Your Garden Grow?
Attend Kidzu Children’s Museum’s virtual event to learn the basics of gardening and how to turn your yard into a space for scientific exploration.

Virtual Day Camp Family Night 
Learn more about YMCA of the Triangle’s summer programming at their virtual family night! Hear about camp traditions, fun activities, safety measures and more. 

FRIDAY

Master of Fine Arts Exhibition and Artists’ Conversation 
Ackland Art Museum hosts a virtual conversation with Fred Joiner, guest curator, and Sheyda Arab Yazdi, Alena Mehić and Krysta Sa, featured artists, of “Micro/Macro,” the 2021 Master of Fine Arts exhibition. 

SATURDAY-SUNDAY

Inaugural 2021 Calico Maker’s Market
Join the Calico Studio family in their front yard (five minutes from Franklin Street) to explore the wares of 14 local makers, ranging from fine art to smoked trout dip. Enjoy live music and arts and crafts activities with the whole family.

The Green Home Tour
Home Builders Association of Durham, Orange & Chatham Counties presents a weekend showcase of new and newly remodeled homes, which are all green certified by one of the following: National Green Building Standard, LEED certified, Eco-Select or ENERGY STAR. Homes are available either for in-person viewings, by appointment or virtually.

An Evening With North Carolina Poet Laureate, Jaki Shelton Green 
Chatham Community Library celebrates National Poetry Month with a virtual presentation by state poet laureate Jaki Shelton Green.

Chapel Hill Fit Fest
Eat The Frog Fitness invites new and current members to tour their fitness studio and meet local vendors, including LA Bikini and The Hill Nutrition.

ClydeFEST in the Wild
Attend Chatham Arts Council’s 19th annual ClydeFEST! Reserve a spot to paint and embellish a critter cut-out while listening to family-friendly live music at The Park at Briar Chapel.

Earth Day/Keep Carrboro Beautiful Volunteer Day 
Volunteer with the Carrboro Century Center to pick-up litter and prevent trash from polluting local streams. Supplies will be provided, but volunteers should bring their own gloves. 

The Twan, Jon & Jack Jam
Livestream the performances of Chapel Hill musicians Twan, Jon Ward Beyle and Jack The Songman as they play separately and team up together. 

SUNDAY

2021 CROP Hunger Walk 
Inter-Faith Council for Social Service (IFC) and Church World Service partner to virtually host the 34th annual walk supporting the eradication of world hunger. Twenty-five percent of funds raised will benefit IFC in its efforts to fight local food insecurity. 

Enchanted Garden 80th Anniversary Celebration 
Chapel Hill Service League, a women’s organization committed to serving the community, celebrates 80 years with an afternoon of hors d’oeuvres, music and live and silent auctions.

Poetry Reading with Florence Nash and Paul Jones 
Burwell School Historic Site hosts local poets Florence Nash and Paul Jones for a live poetry reading. All guests are required to wear masks, and the event will be recorded and posted online for the public to view.

School of Rock Chapel Hill’s End-of-Season Live-Stream Shows 
Live-streamed from Cat’s Cradle, watch School of Rock Chapel Hill perform the best of AC/DC, Motown, Radiohead, Muse, The Pretenders, Blondie, Joan Jett, Stevie Wonder and more.
