Family Cookout at Maple View Farm – Saturday, 11am-2:30pm – Gather the kids and head to Hillsborough’s Maple View Farm — come rain or shine — for an activity-filled family fun day at the farm! There will be hayrides, live music from Back Porch Orchestra and a great local cookout from the hot new hot dog restaurant in Hillsborough, Fetch Hot Dog Co., created by Durham Catering-trained chef Joel Bohlin. Don’t miss out on locally brewed beer, face painting, and fun (and short!) educational classes for the kiddos about our local agriculture and dairy. Also, let’s not forget Maple View ice cream!

Sweeney Todd at Playmakers – Thursday-Sunday, 7:30pm – It’s the final week to catch this multiple Tony Award-winning musical thriller!

Priceless Gem Tour – Friday, 3-4pm – One of the foremost Civil War historians in the country, Freddy Kiger, will give this tour while telling stories behind the asphalt, mortar and steel of Carolina’s campus. Tours begin at UNC Visitors’ Center.

Martha Graham Dance Company – Friday, 8pm – The iconic dance company comes to Chapel Hill to perform masterpieces as well as newly commissioned works.

Keep Carrboro Beautiful Day – Saturday, 9-11am – Celebrate Earth Day by giving back! Gather to clean up the town’s greenways, sidewalks, schools and other local areas in an effort to keep the watershed and local streams clean.

Piedmont Farm Tour – Saturday, 2-6pm – Load up a car with your friends and family, choose the farms you’d like to visit and get out in the countryside for another year of self-guided tours.

Fair Game Blackberry Tipper Release – Saturday, 5-7pm – Enjoy hot dogs with all the fixins’ and then wash them down with Fair Game’s newest fruit wine. The cookout will be held at their tasting room in Pittsboro.

Bennett Place’s Grand Blue and Gray Ball – Saturday, 7-11pm – Don your best Civil War attire and dance to live music from the Jonny Booker Band with instruction from a dance master. There will be heavy hors d’oeuvres and a professional photographer available for portraits.

4th Annual Celebration of NC Songwriting – Saturday, 8-10pm – This lively gathering will feature Crystal Bright, Carrie Marshall, Dean Driver, Nancy Middleton and Kirk Ridge in a full-band mix of R&B, rock, jazz and gypsy folk.

Open House at Moorefields – Sunday, 1-5pm – Come see the historic house and grounds of Moorefields! Board members will be around to host brief tours and answer questions. Take a walk to the creek or just sit a spell on the 200-year-old porch.

“Save the Fox” Fundraiser at Tandem – Sunday, 6-9pm – Carrboro’s newest restaurant will celebrate their opening with appetizers, live music and an auction. The special fundraiser will honor Carl Fox, and proceeds will benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of North Carolina.
