Thursday

Yoga on the Village Green 
Enjoy the Southern Village Green with an outdoor yoga session presented by Franklin Street Yoga Center from 6-7 p.m. All levels are welcome, and registration is required. Guests will need to bring their own mat.

“What Are You Reading?” Book Club for Kids 
The Orange County Public Library hosts this month’s book club meeting for kids in grades 3-5, in-person at Weaver Street Market in Hillsborough from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Kids are encouraged to bring the book they are currently reading or one that they have read recently and share with others. Registration is required.

Thursday Night Jazz
Spend your evening enjoying jazz and sampling the cocktail or draft options at Yonder Southern Cocktails & Brew with musical guest New Morning Jazz, from 7-8:30 p.m. 

Summer Concert Series
Durham-based songwriter Marshall Sidbury performs live music at the Nash Street Tavern in Hillsborough. The show starts at 8 p.m.

Movies Under the Stars
Relax with an outdoor showing of the movie “Moana” at The Forest Theatre in Chapel Hill. The movie starts at sundown, estimated between 8-8:30 p.m., but guests are encouraged to come early to grab a seat and explore the theatre. 

Thursday-Saturday

Drive-in Movies
It’s showtime, rain or shine, at The Drive-In at Carraway Village this weekend. Screenings of comedy blockbuster “Jungle Cruise,” starring Emily Blunt and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, begin at 8:30 p.m. Be sure to purchase tickets in advance. 

Friday

Museum Pictionary 
Join in via Zoom for virtual drawing games centered around the exhibit “Drawing Attention,” which features paper-based pieces (watercolors, collages, drawings) from Europe and America, hosted by the Ackland Art Museum. Ackland curators Dana Cowen and Lauren Turner will lead the Pictionary-style event from 3:30-4:30 p.m. 

Fridays on The Front Porch 
Join The Carolina Inn for this installment of the Fridays on The Front Porch concert series from 5-8 p.m., featuring Counterclockwise String Band for tunes, and food trucks BO’s kitchen and The Corner Venezuelan Food will be on-site with tasty treats. 

Saturday

Farmers Market Yoga on the Lawn 
Get your body moving with a Vinyasa class led by Monarch Movement Company at the Eno River Farmers Market from 9–9:45 a.m. Don’t forget a yoga mat or beach towel!

Saturday-Sunday

Morehead Planetarium & Science Center Shows 
A variety of educational showings are slated for this weekend at the Morehead Planetarium & Science Center, starting with four presentations on Saturday; “Little Star that Could” at 10 a.m., “Earthquakes, Volcanoes and Tsunamis” at noon, “From Earth to the Universe” at 2 p.m. and “Carolina Skies” at 4 p.m., with two presentations, “Astronaut” at 1 p.m. and “Carolina Skies” at 3 p.m. on Sunday. 

Sunday

Boot Camp & Brunch
Treat yourself to a morning of Chapel Hill Training boot camp followed by brunch. The community workout class, led by Patricia Callison, takes place on the Southern Village Green, and participants can refuel after with a 10% discount on brunch specials at The Town Hall Grill

Sundays at Sundown Music Series 
Lounge at the Southern Village Green for an evening of live music played by Motown, soul and rock band The Instruments of Justice from 8-9:30 p.m.
