Introduction to “Becoming a Woman” – Thursday, 6pm – A illustrated talk at the Ackland Art Museum, led by Melissa Hyde, professor of art and history at University of Florida. One in a series of events for “Becoming a Woman in the Age of Enlightenment,” an exhibit that runs through April 8. Free.
Preview shows of “The Christians” and Molière’s “Tartuffe” – Thursday, 7:30pm and Saturday, 7:30pm – Playmakers Repertory Company hosts preview performances of “The Christians” and Molière’s “Tartuffe.” The two shows will run in rotating repertory for a six-week period. Tickets start at $15.
Grand Opening of CURRENT ARTSPACE+STUDIO – Friday, 11am-7pm – The CURRENT ARTSPACE+STUDIO will hold a grand opening in Carolina Square. There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony at 11 am and a campus & community open house till 7 pm. Free.

Whirlikids Book Festival – Saturday, 10am-4pm – Take the kids to McIntyre’s Books in Fearrington Village for a day featuring storytime, readings, book signings and more. For kids of all reading levels, ages 3 and up. Free.
No Shame Theatre – Saturday, 8pm – Hosted at The Arts Center, this monthly event gives amateur playwrights, actors and directors a chance to shine. Come at 7 p.m. with an original piece of five minutes or less, or just show up to enjoy the show. Tickets: $5.
The Monti 10th Annual Hippo Awards – Saturday, 8pm – The Monti will be honoring the best stories told in the previous year and feature a full lineup of new stories by unheard voices as well as past Hippo Award winners. Tickets: $22 public, $20 students/seniors.
17th Annual Bob Marley Birthday Bash – Saturday, 8pm-12am – Celebrate Bob Marley’s birthday at Cat’s Cradle with food, local craft vendors and live reggae music. Tickets: $12 in advance, $15 at the door.
