Drive-In Movie Screenings
Head to The Drive-In at Carraway Village to view Marvel’s latest action movie “Shang-Chi and the Legend of The Ten Rings.” Tickets must be purchased in advance for showings Thursday through Saturday evenings.

Courtyard Concert
The Goodloves perform a live concert in the courtyard at The Colonial Inn from 5:30 to 8 p.m.
Yoga on the Green
Relax and enjoy the evening air from 6 to 7 p.m. at Southern Village. Franklin Street Yoga Center hosts this class, open to all levels, but don’t forget a mat and sunscreen. Registration is required.
Creative Writing at Carolina
Attend an evening of literary conversation via Zoom, with poetry readings from UNC’s creative writing students, faculty and award-winning poets Tyree Daye and Gabrielle Calvocoressi, and a panel of the department’s esteemed published authors from 6 to 7:45 p.m.
Tracks Music Series
Join Chapel Hill band Heat Preacher and Raleigh natives Jack the Radio from 6 to 8 p.m. for a blend of rock and folk during Tracks Music Library’s concert series at University Place. Pack a picnic or enjoy refreshments from Hawkers Asian Street Food, Carolina Brewery, and Maple View Farms.

NC 10by10 Play Festival
Live theater returns to The ArtsCenter with OdysseyStage’s annual NC 10by10 Play Festival. The in-person and livestreamed festival features 10 plays showcasing various themes, each 10 minutes long, by North Carolina playwrights that are performed by a 10-person ensemble cast, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Tickets must be purchased in advance.
Guest Speaker Steve Gilliland
Spend your evening with motivational speaker and comedian Steve Gilliland, American Legion Post Six’s September guest speaker. Steve was inducted into the National Speaker Association’s Hall of Fame in 2012, and will speak about family, personal life and self-improvement. Tickets must be purchased in advance for the event, taking place from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
An Evening with Jill Andrews
Join the Tennessean singer-songwriter for stories of her struggles, her “unsung moments,” and her experiences being a woman. Listen live at Cat’s Cradle’s Back Room at 8 p.m. Doors open at 7 p.m.
Outdoor Garden Party
Kidzu Children’s Museum hosts it’s Tech Trek in the Outdoor Learning Garden. All materials will be provided, though be sure to RSVP. Families are encouraged to attend this event and will receive a coupon to Alfredo’s Pizza Villa.
Fridays on the Front Porch
The Carolina Inn’s concert series will feature Lee Gildersleeve and the Bad Dogs and their blues rock tunes, and food trucks serving Chirba Chirba dumplings and Mesa NC’s traditional Salvadoran food, from 5 to 8 p.m.
Movies With Goats
Join the goats at Spring Haven Farm at 8 p.m. for a surprise romantic comedy on the outdoor screen. Don’t forget to bring your own chairs and a picnic dinner or drinks. Tickets should be purchased in advance.

Love & Valor
The Americana-folk band from Burlington, North Carolina, will perform live at Yonder Southern Cocktails & Brew on West King Street from 8 to 11 p.m.
Carolina Skies
Take a journey through the North Carolina night sky at Morehead Planetarium & Science Center from 4 to 6 p.m. Explore stories about constellations and galaxies, and travel to the furthest points of the universe, all underneath the planetarium dome. Tickets must be purchased in advance.
Sunday
Oral History Workshop
Participate in this virtual workshop via Zoom from 3 to 4 p.m., hosted by UNC doctoral student and Southern Oral History Program Field Scholar Anna Hamilton. The workshop will focus on the intricacies and basics of oral history and how it functions to document local tales.
Sundays at Sundown
Wrap up the weekend with Southern Village’s outdoor concert series at 7 p.m. Family rock trio Secret Monkey Weekend performs live.
Jack the Songman
From 3 to 5 p.m, this Chapel Hill-based singer, pianist and musician performs live at Botanist and Barrel.
Downtown Fall Sidewalk Sale
Spend the afternoon in Hillsborough browsing the wares from local shops, including Carlisle & Linny Vintage Jewelry, Purple Crow Books, Thomas Stevens Gallery and Re-Invintaged Home Decor & More. From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., merchandise will be set up on the sidewalk for open-air shopping.
Wine and Design
Visit The Honeysuckle Tea House from 4 to 6 p.m. for a hands-on art class. Tickets are required, which includes a tea, mead or other beverage of your choice.
