Shaun Jay Magic Show
Hosted by the Orange County Public Library, this local magician performs an interactive show on Zoom with illusions and comedic improv perfect for the children. Shaun Jay has been featured on FOX, ABC, NBC, “Masters of Illusion” on the CW Network and the TEDx Stage.


Intergalactic Soulstice Virtual Art Festival
The Ackland Art Museum hosts a three-day online Afrofuturist festival inspired by Intergalactic Soul, an ongoing body of work by artists Marcus Kiser and Jason Woodberry that facilitates contemporary conversations about black experiences. Events include a puppet show by Jeghetto, music by Quentin Talley and the Soul Providers, a comic drawing workshop by Marcus and Jason, and more. All events are free, but some require registration. 

Freight Train Blues Music Series – Thomas Rhyant
Tune in at 6pm for the second to final installment of this virtual concert series on Facebook live and YouTube live. Hosted by the Music Maker Relief Foundation, this week features one hour of soul-stirring music by Thomas Rhyant, whose sound emulates the legacy of Sam Cooke.

Village Green Music Series – Tueting, Guild & Chamis
Southern Village transitions its annual summer music series online with acoustic Americana standards and originals from Tueting, Guild and Chamis. Tune in on Facebook live at 7pm.

Town of Carrboro Juneteenth Program
The Town of Carrboro presents a Juneteenth program, where current and former African American elected officials of Orange County come together to share a Resolution in Recognition of 400 Years of the African American Story. The program will be available on Carrboro Recreation, Parks, & Cultural Resources Department’s YouTube Channel.


Backyard Butterflies Open House and Plant Swap
Once a year Backyard Butterflies, a habitat in Hillsborough which has raised almost 20 different butterfly and moth species, opens its two-acre garden for the fourth installment of its annual open house. Guests can learn how to create a butterfly and pollinator friendly space and bring plants to swap with the hosts and other members of the community. The event is free, but RSVP is required. 


Tarheel Antiques Festival
Buy or sell your favorite antiques for affordable prices at this two-day festival located in the barn at Lloyd’s Dairy Farm in Efland. The festival features antique and craft vendors, auctions and appraisals, and benefits the Meridian Community Foundation, which raises funds to build a park in northern Orange County.
