Carolina Brewery‘s craft beers have won numerous accolades nationally and statewide, and have been featured in international beer festivals, including the World Beer Championships. Founded in 1995 by owner Robert Poitras, the craft brewery model has been a pioneer for brewing in North Carolina. This year, they turn 20 and are celebrating brewery style with food, fun, and of course, beer.
A new menu launch for both the Chapel Hill and Pittsboro locations highlights the Brewery’s continued emphasis on local and fresh ingredients, with comfort food favorites like Shrimp and Grits and the Anniversary Burger. Celebrate the tradition of award-winning craft beers with cheers to the creation of a new Anniversary Ale – the malty and refreshing ale features light hops for minimum bitterness with a touch of dried orange cumin, and coriander to round out the flavor.
The celebration continues into March, with a weekend of oyster and beer pairings at both locations. Carolina Brewery beers will be paired with oysters from the family-owned Shoot Point Oysters in Maryland. Tickets will be available for the event online in advance.
Finally, a 5K run/walk in Chapel Hill will mark the grand finale on April 11. Festivities continue afterward and into the evening with a 20th Anniversary Party at the Chapel Hill location.
Make sure to keep up with the celebration over social media to receive giveaways and be on top of other initiatives throughout the year.
