We’re always doing a little bit of everything around town these days. Scroll down to see what we’ve been up to recently!
Al’s Burger Shack
Jessica made a visit to Al’s Burger Shack and took a photo nearly as picturesque as Briana Brough’s July/August cover shot.
Phil Ford
After winning sportswriter Adam Lucas’s twitter contest for tickets to the UNC-Davidson game, Jessica’s luck continued at the Carolina Basketball Museum. On her first visit, Jessica and her mom spotted Tar Heel legend Phil Ford and he graciously posed for a photo.
Oakleaf
Andrea helped a friend celebrate a birthday at Oakleaf. The mushroom, crispy oyster and scallop entree was divine!
The Carolina Inn
Andrea ran into Laurie Paolicelli of the Chapel Hill/Orange County Visitors Bureau at The Carolina Inn and couldn’t resist the opportunity to pose in front of the tree!
UNC Basketball
Marketing Associate Jenny Hunt and her husband Christian loved every minute of the intense UNC-Maryland game last week. The Chapel Hill transplants and newlyweds have been enjoying exploring the area ever since they moved so Christian could study sports medicine and athletic training in graduate school.
Calavera
Though known for their empanadas and tequila, Calavera has some killer, creative cocktails. Jessica had the horchata sipper with a rim lined in cinnamon sugar.
Chapel Hill sunrise
Andrea’s always up early. One benefit is catching a sunrise shot like this one.
State Farm Customer Appreciation Lunch
Thanks to Pam Herndon and her staff for lunch last week! Kem and Flann enjoyed Wayne’s famous barbecue and Smithfield’s fried chicken.
O Christmas Tree!
How gorgeous is this tree at Franklin Street Partners?
Chirba Chirba
The winner of our Best of Chapel Hill poll for Best Food Truck, the Chirba Chirba dumpling truck is parked at Cliff’s Meat Market most Sundays.
Steel String
Andrea highly recommends you take said Chirba Chirba dumplings over to Steel String so you can wash them down with a nice cold beer!
Nantucket Grill
They call it “mile high cake” at Nantucket Grill for good reason!
Giving Party
The Chapel Hill Giving Party raised more than $11,000 for local nonprofits A Lotta Love (Donate a Room), Support Circles with IFC, Fuel Up Perry Harrison, SKJAJA and Transplanting Traditions. Founded by friends Perri Kersh (pictured here with Andrea), Mary Beth Grealey, Casey Saussy and Sue Egnoto, the Giving Party’s nine-year total is an impressive $306,500.
The Franklin Hotel
Be sure to check out the Franklin Hotel’s festive windows this holiday season. Andrea and Dan went to the unveiling party last week.
