As usual, we were busy doing a little bit of everything in Chapel Hill, Carrboro, Pittsboro and Hillsborough. Click through our photos to see what we’ve been up to this week!
City Kitchen
The turkey club at City Kitchen makes for a perfect workday lunch, especially now that patio weather is here to stay!
Carolina Performing Arts
Dan attended Carolina Performing Arts’ unveiling of their 2015-16 season. Look for Lucinda Williams, Buddy Guy and Steep Canyon Rangers this fall. Pictured here is Emil Kang, CPA’s executive and artistic director.
Carolina Performing Arts
Pretty cool staging at the CPA event!
Crook’s Corner
Have you been to Crook’s Corner lately? Bill Smith’s serving up some out-of-this-world desserts right now.
Summer Tennis League
Andrea joined a summer tennis league, which means she played the first real tennis match of her life Thursday night at Southern Village. She didn’t win, but she held her own!
Vietri
Even when she’s on vacation, Jessica got North Carolina on her mind and radar. While in Boulder, Colorado, she spotted Hillsborough’s Vietri pottery at a gourmet kitchen store.
K&W Cafeteria
Andrea finally did something she’s been meaning to do for six-plus years: She got a to-go vegetable plate (yes, she’s calling mac and cheese a veggie just this once) from K&W Cafeteria.
Al’s Burger Shack
Everyone loves the hamburgers at Al’s Burger Shack, but Jessica is obsessed with the ice-cream sandwiches there.
UNC Press
How great is this excerpt from Lee Smith’s contribution to UNC Press’ new “Amazing Place: What North Carolina Means to Writers”?
580 Craft Beer
Andrea picked up a few Memorial Day brews at Pittsboro’s new 580 Craft Beer.
