Kick off the first weekend of August with movies, music and slushies!

THURSDAY:

Donovan Frankenreiter comes to Cat’s Cradle for a night of funky jams and feel-good grooves. The surf rock musician has released over a dozen albums, with his latest record released in July. Alongside his longtime right-hand man Matt Grundy, Donovan will spinning and dropping the needle on vinyl records for an undoubtedly special show. 

FRIDAY:

Sit back and enjoy a live performance from local band Lee Gildersleeve and the Bad Dogs as part of The Carolina Inn’s Fridays on the Front Porch concert series. Don’t forget to grab delicious food from The Humble Pig and Pie Pushers food trucks.

SATURDAY:

Come out and Meet The Heels at UNC’s new Football Practice Complex. Hosted by Carolina Football, the annual event gives fans the opportunity to meet head coach Mack Brown and the players, in addition to other activities like bounce houses, face painting, photos with Rameses, giveaways and more. 

SUNDAY:

Bring your family and friends to cool down with slushies at the second annual SLUSHFEST at Botanist & Barrel. Adults can choose from a dozen of wine, beer and cider slushies, while kids can choose from a dozen snow cone flavor toppings.
