Bring a blanket and chair to the lawn of Weaver Street Market for its recurring Thursday event, After Hours Late Summer. There will be live music from Eyes Like Kites, a funk/jazz/classical band.


Watch giant puppets come to life at Paperhand Puppet Intervention’s 20th Annual Summer Show, “We Are Here,” all weekend long at the Forest Theatre.


Celebrate PlayMakers Repertory Company’s #LegacyNOW season at its Open House in the Joan H. Gillings Center for Dramatic Art building. There will be food trucks including Maple View Ice Cream, backstage tours, opportunities to meet the actors, live music and more.


Celebrate the 25th anniversary of “Forrest Gump” by watching it on the big screen at the Southern Village Green. Footnotes Tap Ensemble will kick off the movie with a performance beforehand.
