Meals on Wheels Dining for Dollars – Thursday, 6 p.m. – This dinner at Hickory Tavern benefitting Chapel Hill-Carrboro Meals on Wheels will include a silent auction featuring items such as a UNC football game day experience for four, a vacation to Aruba and tickets to “Riverdance” at DPAC in Durham. New Menu Tasting Party – Thursday, 5-7 p.m. – Carolina Brewery‘s got some new menu items – think fried green tomatoes, seasonal dips and chicken sliders – and they’ll be passing out samples plus tapping their annual limited batch of the Triple S Lager. As if it couldn’t get any better – $1 pints are available all day long.

Hey Guy – Friday, Doors 8 p.m. – This rock band’s sound has been described as “if the Beach Boys jammed with Queens of the Stone Age.” Local indie rock band Knurr and Spell will open for them at Local 506.
Tar Heel Yard Sale – Saturday, 7 a.m. to noon – Don’t miss your chance to scoop up mostly unworn UNC gear – more than 12,000 pieces – from Men’s Basketball Game Jerseys to hats, headbands and socks. We hear they’re expect a big crowd so you can start lining up at the Eddie Smith Field House as early as 4 a.m.
Avante Vocal Jazz – Saturday, 7:30pm – Enjoy the bold fusion of jazz with contemporary a cappella at this concert held at the University Presbyterian Church.
Skywatching at Jordan Lake – Saturday, 9-11 p.m. – We’ll let you in on a little secret: If you’re willing to stay up late and head to Jordan Lake, you can see Jupiter, Mars, Saturn and the moon at the free skywatching sessions hosted by Morehead Planetarium with members of Chapel Hill Astronomical & Observation Society.
YMCA Fam Jam – Sunday, noon-5 p.m. – Gather your family for the inaugural (FREE!) event at University Place featuring music from Big Fat Gap and Liquid Pleasure and food trucks like Al’s Burger Shack, Chirba Chirba and Pie Pushers while learning all about the programs at the YMCA.
Bloc Party – Sunday, Doors 7 p.m. – This London-based band performed on “Late Night With Seth Meyers” back in March and they’re bringing their synth-pop sound to Cat’s Cradle.
