Art in the Garden Sculpture Exhibition – Saturday, 10am-6pm & Sunday, 12-5pm – For the 24th year, Hillsborough’s Garden Art Gallery is coming alive with sculptures from regional artists. This year’s selections range from abstract to figurative works. The event is free, but RSVPs are requested.
Cinco de Mayo with Goats – Saturday, 1-5pm – Celebrate Cinco de Mayo at Spring Haven Farm with face painting, piñatas, hay rides and more. Enjoy springtime treats, listen to music and interact with goats, pigs and horses. Tickets: $12.50
Burgers, Broadway and Beyond – Saturday, 5-8pm – Rock out to your favorite tunes from Hamilton, Grease, Glee and more at this performance by Beyond Broadway Studios. Al’s Burger Shack is providing dinner, and all proceeds benefit school arts programs through the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Public School Foundation. Tickets: $5
No Rocky Road – Sunday, 3-5pm – Help the teens of Spoke’n Revolutions tour the nation by attending this ice cream social and fundraiser held at Maple View Agricultural Educational Center. Money raised will go toward the Triangle Bikeworks teen group’s 14-day summer tour. The tour, “Bikes, Water, and Soul,” is a partnership with the Triangle Land Conservancy. Tickets: $5 for kids, $10 for adults
Concert on the Green – Sunday, 6-8pm – Pack a picnic and take the family for an afternoon of blues, folk and calypso music from The String Peddlers.
Youth Choir Benefit Concert – Sunday, 7pm – Enjoy a musical evening as youth choirs from University Presbyterian Church, United Church of Chapel Hill, University United Methodist Church and Binkley Baptist Church join together for their annual benefit concert. This year, the concert will be held at Binkley Baptist Church and donations will go to Josh’s Hope Foundation, which helps young adults struggling with mental illness or substance abuse.
Chapel Hill Philharmonia – Sunday, 7:30pm – The Chapel Hill Philharmonia‘s spring concert features Caroline Jesalva, a 17-year-old from Cary who won the 2018 Youth Artist Competition. Caroline is co-concert master of the Triangle Youth Philharmonia and has won other numerous awards. The performance will be held in Moeser Auditorium in Hill Hall on UNC’s campus and a reception will follow. Free
