Ring in the weekend with Fridays on the Front Porch at the Carolina Inn!

Southern Village Farmers Market – Thursday, 3:30-6pm – It’s back! Come out to the market for offerings from Valley View Farms, Eco Farm and Peppermint Spring Farm.

Oklahoma! – Thursday-Saturday, 7:30pm; Sunday, 2pm – Oh, what a beautiful mornin’! Witness Rodgers and Hammerstein’s famous musical about Curly and Jud’s fight for Laurey’s hand, put on by the Orange Community Players at Orange High School.

“Cabaret” – Thursday-Saturday, 7:30pm; Sunday, 2pm – Enjoy the culmination of PlayMakers‘ Summer Youth Conservatory, as they present the story of the Kit Kat Klub set during the fall of Weimar Germany.

Jam Session Series: Line Dance – Friday, 7:30-9pm – Learn different types of line dances, including the Macarena, the Cupid Shuffle and more. Taught by dance instructor Bruce Gilooly at the Carrboro Century Center.

“These Shining Lives” – Friday, Saturday, Sunday, 2pm – Presented by the Women’s Theatre Festival, this performance at The ArtsCenter looks at the true story of the Radium Girls, whose fight for workers’ rights and justice remains relevant today.

Fridays on the Front Porch – Friday, 5-8pm – Ring in the weekend with live music, food trucks and brews at the Carolina Inn!

“Star Wars: The Last Jedi” – Thursday, 8:30pm – Watch the latest installment in the sequel trilogy at Wallace Plaza.

Parents Night Out – Friday, 6-9pm – Drop your kids off at Kidzu Children’s Museum and give yourself some R&R this Friday! Children ages 3-9 will have the opportunity to explore the museum’s exhibits, eat a nice dinner and watch a movie.

Last Friday in Hillsborough – Friday, 6:30-9:30pm – It’s that time of the month, again! Visit the Historic Orange County Courthouse Lawn for a free concert from U.B.U The Band, plus enjoy food and artisan vendors such as Smitty’s Homemade Ice Cream and Carolina Hardwood Crafts.

“Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid” – Saturday, 8:30pm – Watch Paul Newman’s 1969 Western classic on the Southern Village Green! Bring your lawn chairs, picnic food and friends.

Summer Community Chorus – Sunday, 4pm – Listen to the chorus sing a variety of pieces, ranging from Renaissance-era to modern. The concert will be at the United Church of Chapel Hill, and you can support the Compass Center with a suggested donation.
