THURSDAY
Come to The ArtsCenter for their PopUp Chorus Holiday Extravaganza! It’s the only chorus where you can show up when you want and skip it when you’re too busy. No audition, no ongoing commitment. Just show up and sing. At each event, singers arrive and “learn” two familiar songs, which they later perform and record, guided by their funny and encouraging conductor, Amelia Shull, and accompanied by the charismatic Matt Phillips. Admission is $13 for adults and $8 for students.
FRIDAY
Celebrate the winter solstice along the Riverwalk during the Solstice Celebration Lantern Walk. Individuals are asked to bring a handmade lantern that lights up to guide them along as they march with the rest of the community.
SATURDAY
Treat yourself to the magic of the holiday season at Kidzu Children Museum’s 21+ Gingerbread Design Challenge! Sip on beer or wine as you design a gingerbread structure that can be entered to win a prize, or head into the Makery to etch custom drinking glasses – perfect to give or keep. And don’t miss out on the candy cane bar while watching a holiday classic in The Forest Theater.
SUNDAY
Head to Southern Season for their final holiday cooking class Kids in the Kitchen: Christmas Cupcakes! From eggnog cupcakes to chocolate cupcakes and gingerbread cupcakes with cinnamon cream cheese frosting, kids will learn how to make all sorts of cupcakes.
