Weekend at a Glance
We’re kicking off May with outdoor concerts, big sales, garden tours and more
By Hannah Lee

THURSDAY:
Grab your ladies and come out to downtown and west Hillsborough for LADIES NIGHT (& DAY) OUT! Shops will be open late, restaurants and pubs are running specials for women, and there will be tons of raffles, prizes and give-aways. Also, this year there are fun activities throughout like private tours of Hillsborough landmarks for small donations to the Orange County Rape Crisis Center.
FRIDAY:
Launch into space with Satellite, a cosmic concert experience from DJ Kid Koala that has been called “spontaneous, emotional, interactive and completely live” by NOW Magazine. Harmonize, scratch and get immersed in this atmospheric musical performance, where everyone is a member of a turntable orchestra at CURRENT ArtSpace + Studio.
SATURDAY:
Bring your chairs and blankets to the Southern Village Green for Burgers, Broadway & Beyond to enjoy musical performances by Beyond Broadway Studios. The Company Troupe will perform selections from “The Greatest Showman” and songs from other hit movie musicals. There will also be eats from food vendors like Carolina Brewery and La Vita Dolce. Proceeds benefit the Chapel Hill – Carrboro Public School Foundation to support arts programs throughout the school district.
SUNDAY:
Celebrate Cinco de Mayo at Redeye Worldwide for an afternoon of community fun! Admission includes heavy hors d’oeuvres by Barrera’s Catering, music by DJ Joey C, loteria bingo games, a bounce house, a snow cone machine and more. Proceeds benefit Habitat for Humanity of Orange County’s 2019 Women Build program, helping to build affordable senior housing in Hillsborough.
