Bring in Thanksgiving week with early holiday shopping, a fundraiser and comedy showcase

THURSDAY

Carolina Performing Arts presents the second night of ‘Loch na hEala,’ a modern take on the classical ballet “Swan Lake” by Irish dance company Teac Damsa. Inspired by both ancient folklore and modern society, the contemporary performance combines dance, theater and live music for a magical evening. 

FRIDAY

Dress your best for Morehead Planetarium and Science Center’s 20th annual Jupiter Ball, a philanthropic event benefiting The Jupiter Ball Scholarship Program and, this year, honoring former UNC Chancellor James Moser. The evening will begin with cocktails at Graham Memorial Hall and end with outdoor stargazing led by Morehead’s astronomers. 

SATURDAY

Head to The PIT for the inaugural Franklin Street Comedy Festival, featuring an array of stand-up comedy, improv, sketches and storytelling.

SUNDAY

Support local and regional artists, artisans, bakers and makers at Arts on Market, a family-friendly, biannual celebration on the Southern Village Green, complete with live music, food, drinks and shopping.
