Top chefs from across the state are prepping their best pepper-centric dishes for the 8th Annual Pepper Festival on September 27. With approximately 45 chefs coming together to create one-of-a-kind recipes, the festival has doubled in size and established itself as one of North Carolina’s largest chef competitions. Top of the Hill, The Fearrington Granary, Glasshalfull and more local culinary heavy hitters will attend the festival, with breweries such as Carolina Brewery, Fullsteam, Crude Bitters and YesterYears offering craft brews.
For children, the Pepper Festival offers Pepperpalooza, a kid-friendly zone with activities to provide hands-on education about local agriculture. Festivalgoers can also enjoy artisan booths, acrobatic entertainment and music from The Stacks. The festival is sponsored by Briar Chapel, one of the Triangle’s largest green communities, in partnership with Abundance NC, a nonprofit that supports local agriculture and sustainable fuels.
