THURSDAY:

UNC Professor Gesche Wuerfel’s ARTS 515 Advanced Photography class presents, re:Collection, the first day of their 16-day exhibition at FRANK Gallery. The exhibit, which features both black and white film as well as digital photography, covers an array of topics ranging from disability to feminism to war. Entry to the exhibit is free.

FRIDAY:

Make plans to attend the CARS Tour “Old North State Nationals” Race at Orange County Speedway this Friday through Sunday. Friday kicks off with teams and fans traveling in for test day with pits opening at 2pm. That evening will be the ‘”Old North State Nationals Kickoff in Downtown Hillsborough” with an opportunity for racing fans to get driver’s autographs, photos and ticket giveaways at four locations including Volume Records, Hot Tin Roof, Village Diner and Whit’s Frozen Custard.

SATURDAY:

Local celebrities will strut their stuff at the fifth annual High Heels and Hard Hats Fashion Show, hosted by the Habitat for Humanity of Orange County. The event, held at the Rizzo Center, will include live and silent auctions, a chance to snap a photo in the ZimZoom Photo Booth and some surprises to raise money for Habitat’s building materials.

SUNDAY:

Boy Scout Troop 39 will host its 11th annual Touch a Truck event at the Friday Conference Center. Children and their parents can climb aboard a fire truck, big rig, bulldozer and other large vehicles provided by area organizations. The proceeds will benefit the North Carolina Children’s Hospital and the troop’s scouting programs.
