Weekend at a Glance
Spooky season is upon us with a mystery tour, pumpkin carving and a premiere food and drink festival
By Anne Tate

THURSDAY:
The 10th and final four-day Terra Vita Food & Drink Festival brings together top chefs, food artisans, sommeliers, baristas, brewers, educators, distillers, cookbook authors and industry luminaries from across the Southeast to Chapel Hill, Carrboro and Pittsboro. This premier culinary festival focuses on sustainable food and drink and zero-waste products.
FRIDAY:
Put on your scariest costume and join Dr. Sarah George-Waterfield during Chapel Hill Historical Society’s Halloween edition Chillz on the Hill walking tour. Explore UNC’s campus at moonlight and listen to stories of mystery and history.
SATURDAY:
Head to the Sheraton Chapel Hill Hotel for the two-day Carolina Women’s Show, an event filled with shopping, fashion, food, entertainment, cosmetics and giveaways. The list of exhibitors, which is still growing, includes Orange Theory Fitness, Chatham Hill Winery, Carolina Hemp Hut, Deep River Mercantile and more.
SUNDAY:
Don’t miss the world premiere of “Dairyland” at PlayMakers Repertory Company. The romantic comedy follows Allie, a food writer in New York City, who escapes to her father’s dairy farm in Wisconsin after a hysterically complicated food fight between her and her journalistic rivals.
