Weekend at a Glance

THURSDAY:

Join Acme for its 18th Annual Tomato Festival as they go through a few hundred pounds of tomatoes showcasing some of Carrboro Farmers’ Market’s best produce. Festival runs from Thursday to Sunday.

FRIDAY:

Experience theatrical performances by Chapel Hill-Carrboro’s OdysseyStage and Cary Playwrights’ Forum in the NC 10by10 Play Festival. This year, performances will depict stories of fortune and misfortune and be performed by an entirely local cast. Shows will be held at The ArtsCenter all weekend long.

SATURDAY:

The Station presents its fourth annual NobFest with live music from 8pm to midnight. Orange County’s Dixie Chicks tribute band, Chixie Dicks, headlines the night. There will be no cover, but tips benefit the Hindman Settlement School in Knott County, Kentucky.

SUNDAY:

Visit Cedar Grove Blueberry Farm for its fifth annual Pick-a-ton Fundraiser and pick as many berries as you can for charity. For every 25 pounds of blueberries picked, a pound of fresh berries will be donated to TABLE. The event also includes a pig pickin’ with farm-fresh fixings, wine and cider from Botanist and Barrel Tasting Room, which will also donate five percent of sales to TABLE, and live music from Asheville-based artists Booke & Nick.
